When transferring a document to another system or printer you may need to include some, if not all, of the fonts which it uses too. To reduce the size of these font files, FONTEDIT iconFONTEDIT enables you to generate a font-file which contains just those characters actually used in that document. (For example, a well-populated font may contain thousands of characters, but if it is just used to print a logo in that particular document, only a few of the characters are actually needed.)

1.Use a text editing program to open a new plain text (.TXT) file and set the format to the required font.
2.Copy any text in that font from your document and paste it into the TXT file.
3.Open the TrueType, OpenType or WOFF file in FONTEDIT.
4.Select Save subset... on the 'File' menu.
5.Enter/select the File name and extension of the TXT file then click Open.
6.Enter the File name and extension to be given to your new subset font-file then click Save.
This is the file to be kept as part of the document's resources.
oRepeat these steps for each font used in the document.
