Many file extensions have a program associated with them: for example .HTM will be associated with an Internet browser.
It is possible to change the programs 'associated' with a particular file extension. For example, you may wish to open CSV files with the RedTitan Database Manager program. To do this from Windows Explorer:
1. | Right-click a file with the extension .csv. |
2. | Select Properties from the pop-up menu. |
3. | Click Change... from the 'General' page of the dialog. |
4. | Scroll down the list of programs. Select RTDB (usually located in the 'RedTitan\Software' folder) then click OK. |
If the Run the associated program after creating the file box is ticked when a file is exported, EscapeE will create and export the file then call the associated program to view or process it. If the option is ticked but there is no associated program set up for that export format, then if EscapeE can handle the format, it defaults to opening another copy of EscapeE and showing the file there.
